A hunter has a machine gun that can fire 50 g bullets with a velocity of `150ms^(-1)`. A 60 kg tiger springs at him with a velocity `10ms^(-1)` how many bullets must the hunter fire in to the tiger in order to stop him in his track

Given : mass of bullet
`m= 50g = 0.5 kg`
Velocity of bullet
M= 60 kg
velocity v= 10`ms^(-1)`
Let n be the number of bullet required to be pumped into tiger to stop him in his track
According to the law of conservation of momentum
magnitude of the momentum of n bullets = magnitude of teh momentum of tiger of `nxx mv = Mv` or
`n = (MV)/(mv) = (60 xx 10)/( 0.05 xx 150) = 80`
`tan theta = (5)/(6)`
`theta = tan ^(-1) ((5)/(6)) = tan ^(-1) (0.8333)`
`=39 .8^(@)`
