At the centre of the earth, does a simple pendulum oscillate?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

At the centre of the earth, acceleration due to gravity g is zero.
Hence time period is
`T=2pisqrt((l)/(g))`
`=2pisqrt((l)/(0))` = infinity
Hence the pendulum does not oscillate at all.
