Explain damped oscillation . Give an example.

If an oscillator oscillates in a resistive medium, then its amplitude goes on decreasing. The motion of the oscillator is caled damped oscillation.
Eg :
(i) The oscillations of a pendulum (including air friction) or pendulum oscillating inside an oil filled container.
(ii) Electromagnetic oscillations in a tank circuit.
