Cooking gas container are kept in a lorry moving with uniform speed. The temperature of the gas molecules inside will

A

increase

B

decrease

C

remains same

D

decrease for some , while increase for others

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

The temperature of gas molecules depends on the average kinetic energy associated with the disorderly motion (i.e.,random motion) of the gas molecules . The orderly kinetic energy of the molecules of gas container will increase in the lorry, whereas disorderly kinetic energy will still remain the same , hence the temperature of the gas molecules will remain unchanged.
