`36%` amount of a radioactive sample distegrates in t time. Calculate how much percentage fraction will decay in `t//2` time.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`20%`

after t time active fraction `=1 -0.36`
`=0.64=N/N_(0)=e^(-lambdat)`
Now at `t//2` time, active fraction
`=(e^(-lambdat))^(1//2)=(0.64)½=0.8`
So decayed fraction in `t//2` time is `0.2` or `20%`
