A ball of mass `20 gm` is fired with velocity u at an angle of `45^(@)` with the horizontal. The ball collides elastically at the highest point of its journey with another identical ball hanged by a 1m long string. Second ball just completes the vertical circle of radius 1m. Find the magnitude of u.

A

`5 m//s`

B

`10 m//s`

C

`15 m//s`

D

`20 m//s`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

We have,
`u (1)/(sqrt2) = sqrt(5.10.l)`

`u = 10 m//s`
