Two block of masses `2 kg` and `3 kg` are connected by string of length `1m`. At any instant the velocitities of block of mass `2kg` and `3 kg` is `5 m//s` in opposite direction and perpendicular to the length of string and is also parallel to horizontal table.

A

tension in the string is `110 N`

B

tension in the string is `120 N`

C

tension in string is `75 N`

D

tension in string is `50N`

The correct Answer is:
B

`v_(c) = (2 xx 5 - 3 xx 5)/(5) = - 1 m//s`
`v_(2c) = 6 m//s`
radius for `3 kg = (3 xx 0 + 2 xx 1)/(5) = 0.4`
`T = (mv_(2c)^(2))/(r)`
radius for `2 kg = 1 - 0.4 = 0.6 m`
`= (2 xx 6^(2))/(0.6) = 120`
radius for `2 kg = 0.6 m`
