Conjuagted proteins are the porteins which are formed by the binding of a simple protein with a non-protein prostheitic group. Conjugated chromoproteins are the pigment called "globin" and non protein iron `(Fe^(+))` porphyrin complex called "heme". 100 ml of blood contains about 15kg of haemoglobin. Four `Fe^(2+)` ions of heme can loosely bound to upto four molecules of oxygen, thus enabling haemoglobin to carry oxygen.
