What is isoelectric point amino acid ? How does it help in the sepration of amino acids ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The pH at which a particular amino acid does not migrate under the influence of an electric field is called isoelectric point of amino acid. At the isoelectric point, an amino acid does not dissolve in water. This property helps in the separation of different amino acids formed by the hydrolysis of proteins.
