(a) Saccharic acid is formed.

(b) Amino acids have both basic `overset(..)(N)H_(2)` group and acidic COOH group. They give the characteristic reactions of both and behave as amphoteric compounds.
(c ) In `alpha`-helix structure, intramolecular H-bonding is present whereas in `beta`-pleated structure, inter molecular H-bonding is present.
