A child's game has 8 triangles of which 3 are blue and rest are red and 10 square of which of 6 are blue and rest are red. One piece is lost a random. Find the probability that it is a :
(i) triangle
(ii) square
(iii) Square of blue color

Total number of triangles = 8
Triangles with bule colour = 3
Triangles with red colour = 8-3 = 5
Total number of squares = 10
Squares with bule colour = 6
Square with red colour = 10 - 6= 4
(i) Number of favourable outcomes for the event that lost figure is triangle =8
Number of favourable outcomes for the event that lost figure is triangle = 8
i.e.,`" "F(E) =8`
Total figure (square and triangle) = 8 + 10 = 18
i.e., `" " T(E) = 18`
`therefore` Probability (getting a triangle ) `= P(E) =(F(E))/(T(E)) = (18)/(18) = (4)/(9)`
(ii) Number of favourable outcomes for the event that lost figure is triangle = 10
i.e.,` " " F (E) = 10`
`therefore " "T(E) = 8+ 10 = 18`
`therefore` Probility (getting a square) `= P(E) = (F(E))/(T(E)) = (10)/(18) = (5)/(9)`
(iii) Number of favourable outcomes for the event that lost figure is square of bule colour = 6
i.e, `" "F(E) = 6`
`therefore" " T(E) = 18`
`therefore` Probability (getting a red blue sqaure) `= P(E) = (F(E))/(T(E)) = (6)/(18)=(1)/(3)`
(iv) Number of favourable outcomes for the event that lost figure is triangle of red colour = 5
i.e., `" "F(E)=6`
`therefore " " T(E) = 18`
`therefore` Probaility (getting a red triangle) `= P(E) = (F(E))/(T(E)) = (5)/(18)`
