The nth term of a sequence is a(n)=n^(2)...

The nth term of a sequence is `a_(n)=n^(2)+5` . Find its first three terms.

A

`5 , 9 ,12`

B

`6 , 8 ,16`

C

`5 , 7 ,12`

D

`6 , 9 ,14`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

`a_(n)=n^(2)+5`
put n =1, 2, 3 we get
`a_(1)=1^(2)+5=6`
`a_(2)=2^(2)+5=9`
`a_(3)=3^(2)+5=14`
`:.` First three terms of the sequence are 6, 9, 14.
