The show ceases to be profitable on the night when the receipts are just Rs. 2000. Thus, by considering that it will happen at nth night.
`:. T_(n)=a+(n-1)d`
`2000=9500+(n-1)(-250)`
`rArr (n-1)=38-8`
`rArr n=31`
Hence, on 31st night, the show ceases to be profitable.
