In an experimental model of the venturimeter, the diameter of the pipe is 4 cm and that of constriction is 3 cm. With water filling the pipe and flowing at a certain rate the height of the liquids in the pressure tube is 20 cm at the pipe and 15 cm at the constrictions. what is the discharge rate ?

Discharge rate = `Q = rho_(A_(1)A_(2)) sqrt((2rho_(0)gh)/(rho (A_(1)^(2)-A_(2)^(2))))`
where `rho_(0)` = density of the liquid in pressure tube
` rho ` = density of the liquid in pressure tube
`rho` = density of the following liquid (water)
` :. Q = (pir_(1)^(2))(pir_(2)^(2)) sqrt((2rho_(0)rhogh)/(pi^(2)(r_(1)^(4)-r_(2)^(4))) ) = (pi_(1)^(2)) sqrt((2rho_(0)rhogh)/(pi^(2)(r_(1)^(4)-r_(2)^(4))) ) = 22/7 xx(0.22)^(2) sqrt((2(1.5xx10^(3))(1xx10^(3))(9.8)(0.15))/((4//3)^(4)-1))`
` = 1.795 ` kg/s
