Dihydrogen reacts with dioxygen (O(2)) ...

Dihydrogen reacts with dioxygen `(O_(2))` to from water .Write the name and formule of the product when the isotope of hydrogen which has one proton and one neutron in its nucles is treated with oxygen. Will the reactivity of both the isotopes be the same towards oxygen ? Justify your answer.

The isotope of hydrogen is deuterium (D) and the formula of its oxide is heavy water `(D_(2)O)`. The reactivy of `D_(2)` towards oxygen is less as compared to that `H_(2)` because bond dissociation enthalpy of `D_(2)(443.35kJ mol^(-1))` is more than that of `H_(2) (435.88kJ mol^(-1))`
