NaBr reacts with `H_(2)SO_(4)` to evolves `Br_(2)` gas.
`2NaBr+3H_(2)SO_(4)to2NaHSO_(4)+SO_(2)+Br_(2)+2H_(2)O`
`Br_(2)` reacts with phenol in aqueous medium to form 2,4,6-dibromophenol.

`CH_(3)CH_(2)CH_(2)OH` does not react with bromine is not in a position to cleave `C-OH` bond in primary alcohol.
