Choose the correct order of atomis radii...

Choose the correct order of atomis radii of Fluorine and Neon (in pm) out of the options give below:

A

72, 160

B

160, 160

C

72,72

D

The correct Answer is:
A

Vanderwaal's radius is considered in case of neon, which normally has a large value. Also, in neon, the valence shell is completely filled with electrons. As a real, there are interelectronic repulsions and thus electron cloub expands. So, atomic radii of neon is greater than that of fluroine.
