Solve the equation:`x^2-x+2=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We know the roots of the quadratic equation `Ax^2+Bx+C=0 `are
`x=(−B±sqrt(B^2−4AC))/(2A)`
The given equation is
`x^2−x+2=0`
for the given equation, `B*2−4AC=(−1)^2−4(1)(2)=−7`
So the roots are
`x=(−(−1)±sqrt(−7))/(2)`
`x=(1±sqrt(7)i)/2`
