Solve the equation:`x^2+3x+9=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We know the roots of the quadratic equation `Ax^2+Bx+C=0 `are
`x=(−B±sqrt(B^2−4AC))/(2A)`
The given equation is
`x^2+3x+9=0`
for the given equation, `B^2−4AC=(3)^2−4(1)(9)=−27`
So the roots are
`x=((-3)±sqrt(−27))/(2)`
`x=((-3)±3sqrt(−3))/(2)`
`x=(-3±3sqrt(3)i)/2`
