The Electric field at a point is

A

always continuous

B

continuous if there is no charge at that point.

The correct Answer is:
B

The electric field due to a charge Q at a point is space may be defined as the force that a unit positive charge would experience if placed at that point. Thus ,electric field due to the charge Q will be continuous, if there is no charge at that point. it will be discontinous if there is a charge at that point.
