(b) Blood clotting starts when prothrombinase in the presence of `Ca^(2+)` converts inactive prothrombin into thrombin which in turn converts dissolved fibrinogen protein into fine thread like fibrin. The network of fibrin covers the wound in which blood corpuscles get endulge and form clot. If `Ca^(2+)` is removed, it will prevent clotting.
