Velocity of sound in a tube containing air at `27^(@)`C and at a pressure of 76 cm of Hg is 300 m/s. What will its velocity be when the pressure is increased to 100 cm of Hg and the temperature is keptconstant ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

At a given temperature, the velocity of sound is independent of pressure, so velocity of sound in tube will remain `330ms^(-1)`
