How will you justify that rusting of iron is a chemical change ?

The rust is a brown chemical compound known as hydrated ferric oxide `(Fe_(2)O_(3).xH_(2)O)`. It can not be removed from the surface of the metal by any means. Formula of rust shows that iron has undergone a chemical change.
