Explain why sodium hydroxide solution cannot be kept in aluminium conaainers ? Write equation for the reaction that may take place for the same.

Sodium hydroxide solution reacts with aluminium from sodium metaaluminate and hydrogen gas is evolved. Therefore it cannot be kept in a container made of aluminium.
