Calculate the volume occupied by 2.0 mol...

Calculate the volume occupied by `2.0` mole of `N_(2) at 200K` and `8.21 atm` pressure, if `(P_(C)V_(C))/(RT_(C)) = (3)/(8)` and `(P_(r)V_(r))/(T_(r)) = 2.4`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`3.6 L`

`(P_(r)V_(r))/(T_(r)) =(P)/(P_(c)) (V_(m))/(V_(c))(T_(c))/(T) = (PV_(m))/(RT) .(RT_(c))/(P_(c)V_(c))`
`Z = (PV_(m))/(RT) = 2.4 xx ((3)/(8))`
so `V_(m,real) = (0.0821 xx 200)/(8.21) xx0.9 = 1.8 L` so volume of two moles `= 3.6L`.
