Nucleolus is the centre for synthesis of ribosomal RNA (rRNA). Ribosomal proteins migrate to the nucleolus from their assembly sites in the cytoplasm ans are packaged into ribonucleoproteins. These return to the cytoplasm where they become mature ribosome particles.
