Calculate the force of repulsion acting ...

Calculate the force of repulsion acting between two positive charges of magnitude 20 esu and 30 esu when they are kept at a distance of 2 cm in air.

Text Solution

Here, `q_(1)=20 " esu and " q_(2)=30` esu, r=2 cm. According to Coulomb.s law the value of the repulsive force acting between the charges, `F=(q_(1)q_(2))/(r^(2))=(20xx30)/((2)^(2))=150` dyne.
