Resistances of two coils of wire are 3 O...

Resistances of two coils of wire are `3 Omega and 6 Omega`. If these coils be connected is (i) series and in (ii) parallel combination, then what will be the equivalent resistance in each case ?

(i) In series combination equivalent resistance will be `R_(1)=3 Omega +6 Omega =9 Omega`
(ii) If the quivalent resistance in the parallel combination be `R_(2)` then
`(1)/(R_(2))=(1)/(3)+(1)/(6)=(6+3)/(18)=(9)/(18)=(1)/(2) therefore R_(2)=2 Omega`
