Find the area of the sector of a circle ...

Find the area of the sector of a circle with radius 4 cm and of angle `30o`. Also, find the area of the corresponding major sector

Text Solution

area of sector `= theta/360 * pi r^2`
`=30/360*3.14*4^2`
`=1/sqrt2 *3.14*16 = 12.56/3 = 4.186cm^2`
now, area of major sector `= pi* r^2 - 4.186 cm^2`
`= 3.14*16 - 4.186`
`= 50.24- 4.186`
`= 46.054cm^2`
