Given : Objective distance (u)=-10 cm
Focal length (f)=12 cm
To find: Image Position (V)=?
Nature of image = ?
Formula: `(1)/(v)-(1)/(u)=1/f`

`1/v -1/u = 1/f`
`therefore 1/v=1/f+1/u`
`therefore 1/v= 1/12 +1/(-10)`
`therefore 1/v = (10-12)/(12xx10)`
`therefore 1/v= (-2)/(12xx10)`
`therefore 1/v = (1-)/(60)`
`therefore v=- 60` cm
The image is formed at a distance of 60 cm on the same side of the lens, it is virtual and erect image.
