Calculate the focal length of a corrective lens having power`+ 2.5 ` D .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
Given Power of lens (P)=2.5 D
To find : Focal length (f)=?
Formula: `P=(1)/(f(m))`

`P=1/f` dioptre
`therefore f= 1/p`
`therefore f= 1/(2.5)`
`therefore f=(1xx 10)/(2.5 xx 10)`
`therefore f= (10)/(25)= 2/5 `
`therefore f=0.4 m`
The focal length of the lens is 0.4 m.
