(i) Few old people, suffer from both myopia and hypermetropia.
(ii) In such cases a bifocal lens is required to correct the defect. The upper part is concave lens to correct myopia and lower part is convex lens to correct hyp ermetropia.
(iii) The concave lens is useful for distant object vision and convex lens for nearby object vision.
(iv) Hence, old people sometimes use bifocal glasses.
