The percentage error in the mass and speed are 2% and 3% respectively. What is the maximum error in kinetic energy calculated using these quantities?

Percentage change in mass= `(Deltam)/mtimes100=2%`
Percentage change in speed = `(Deltav)/vtimes100=3%`
But `K.E=1/2mv^2`
Percentage change in K.E=1(% change in mass)+2 (% change in velocity)
`therefore` Percentage change in K.E
`=1((Deltam)/mtimes100)+2((Deltav)/vtimes100)`
`=1times2-2times3=8%`
