Two radiations one having red colour `( lambda =7.5 xx10^(-5) cm)`and other with orange colour `( lambda = 6.2 xx 10^(-5) cm)`. Which will have higher energy ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

It can be solved as ` E=(hc )/(lamda)`
higher is the wavelength of light lesser will be its energy and vice versa `E prop (1)/( lamda)`
Now the radiation of orange colour has lesser wavelength as compared to red therefore orange radiation wik=ll have higher energy .
