In a solid AB, A atoms have a ccp arrangement and B atoms occupy all the octahedral sites. If all the face-centred atoms along one of the axes passing through body centres are removed, then what will be the resultant stoichiometry of compound ?

Number of A atoms constituting ccp = 14 (1 from 8 corners and 3 from 6 face centres)
On removing two face centres along one of the axis
Number of A atoms left in unit cell = 3
Number of B atoms occupying all octahedral voids = 4
(3 from 12 edge centres and 1 from body centre)
Hence, formula of compound is `A_(3)B_(4)`
and stoichiometry is = 3 : 4
