In Elingham diagram the graph of CO`toCO_2` conversion below `FetoFe_2O_3` upto 1073 k(for `Feto FeO`).So.CO(g) acts as reducing agent upto this temperature.
`3Fe_2O_3+COto2Fe_3O_4(i.e.FeO.Fe_2O_3)+CO_2`
`Fe_3O_4+COto3FeO+CO_2`
`FeO+COtoFe+CO_2`
Also graph of `CtoCO` is below the `FetoFe_2O_3`after 1123 k. So,carbon acid as reducing agent above this temperature.
