For sodium (Na) elements , Mass no and atomic no are 23 and 11 respectively . `Na^(+)` ion is formed by the loss of one electron from Na atom .At the same time there is no change in its atomic number.
No pof protons =Atomic no =11
No of electron s=11-1 =10
No of neutorns =23-11 =12
For chlone (CI) elemment . Mass no and Atomic no are 35 and 17 repectivley `CI^(-)` ion is formed when CI atom accepts ann electron .AT the same time there is no change in tis atomic number
Noi of protons =Atomic no =17 ltrbgt No of electrons =17+1
No of neutorns=35-18.
