In the atom of an element X, 6 electrons are present in the outermost shell. If it acuires noble gas configuration by accepting requisite number of electrons, then what would be the charge on the ion so formed ?

With six 6 electrons in the outermost hsell , the atom of the elelmetn needs two 2 electrons more to have eight 8 electrons in the outermost shell , The ion `(X^(2))` has -2 units charge.
