A uniform rope of length 12m and mass 12kg hangs vertically from a rigid support. A block of mass 2kg is attached to free end of the rope. A traverse pulse of wave length 0.05 m is produced at the lower end of the rope. If `lambda` is the wave length when pulse reached at mid point of the rope, then write `10lambda` in the OMR sheet.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`v=fllambda`
`(lambda_(1))/(lambda_(2))=(v_(1))/(v_(2_sqrt(T_(1))/sqrt(T_(2))`
`(0.05)/(lambda_(2))=sqrt((2xxg)/((2+6)g))=sqrt((1)/(4)=(1)/(2)`
`lambda_(2)=0.1`
