Explain the imapct of removal of thymus gland on the immune system of a human body.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Thymus is a small, irregularly shaped gland situated just under breastbone and between the lungs. The thymus provided micro-environments for the development and maturation of T-lymphocytes. The T-cells themselves do not secrete antibodies but, they help B cells produce them. Therefore, the immunity will be reduced, if thymus is removed.
