(a) Inbreeding depression in cattle can be overcome by outbreeding i.e, mating some selected animals of the breeding population with unrelated superior animals of the same breed.
(b) Advantages of inbreeding in cattle :
(i) Superior quality of breed of organisms is obtained.
(ii) Pure breed of progeny is obtained.
(iii) Elimination of deleterious alleles as they are not passed to future generations.
(c) Jersey is an improved breed of cattle.
