a) A recombinant DNA is inserted within the coding sequence of an ezymG h-galactosidase, which results into inactivation of the enzyme. This method of separation of recombinant. clones from non recombinant ones is called insertional inactivation.
(b) The bacterial colonies having inserted plasmid, shows no colouration while those without inserted plasmid show blue colour.
