State the disadvantage of inbreeding among cattle. How it can be overcome?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Continous inbreeding among cattle causes depression. It decreases the fertility and, een productivity of an animal. It can be overcome by applying outbreeding, in which mating is done between different breeds or individuals of the same breed but having no common ancestors. Outbreeding includes outcrossing, cross-breeding and interspecific hybridsation.
