Where is good ozone present ? Why is it called so ?

Explanation

Ozone-layer stratosphere is a shield and protects the earth's organisms from harmful effects of UV radiations. Absorption of UV radiations increases with the thickness of Ozone layer.
A number of gaseous pllutants like `CH_(4), CFC's, N_(2)O` cause depletion of ozone layer and create ozone holes. The deplection of Ozone layer allows more U.V. radiation reching the earth surface. U.V. rays inhibit photoynthesis in plants, causes, Skin cancer. It damages nucleic acid in living organisms.
