Name an allergen and write the response of the human body when exposed to it.

(i) Allergy is due to the release of chemicals like histamine and sertonin from the mast cells. Examples : of allergens are mites in dust, Pollens, animals dander etc.
(ii) The use of drugs like anti-histamine, adrenalin and steroids quickly reduce the symptoms of allergy.
