You are conducting artificial hybridization on papaya and potato. Which one of them would require the step of emasculation and why? However for both you will use the process of bagging. Justify giving one reason.

Potato plant require the step of emasculation, papaya plant do not because potato is a monoecious (hermaphrodite) and papaya is dioecious.
However, for both flowers bagging is required to avoid undesired pollination because of insects or air.
