If x is so small such that its square and digher powers may be neglected then find the appoximate value of `(1-3)^(1//2)+(1-x)^(5//3))/(4+x)^(1//2)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`((1-3x)^(1//2)+(1-x)^(5//3))/(4+x)^(1//2)=(1-3/2x+1-(5x)/(3))/(2(1+x/4)^(1//2))=1/2(2-(19)/6x)(1+(x)/4)^(-1//2)=1/2(2-(19)/(6)x)(1-(x)/(8))`
`=1/2(2-x/4-19/6x)=1-(x)/(8)-19/12x=1-41/24x`
