(a) Active Smoking : When a smoker willfully accepts the smokes of burning cigar, cigarette, bidis or tobacco directly through the mouth, it is called active smoking.
Passive Smoking : When the smokes of burning cigarette, bidis, cigar, pipes, etc. being mixed with air enter through the inspired air into the body of nearby person or the person does not willfully accept the smokes, it is called passive smoking.
(b) Effects of smoking on respiratory system are various diseases. These are (i) Asthma, (ii) Bronchitis, (iii) Emphysema, (iv) Lung cancer, etc.
