(a) Organic farmers control pests in the following ways : Use of Bacillus thuringiensis : There are available as sachets of dried spores which are mixed with water and sprayed onto vulnerable plants such as brassicas and fruits trees.
Use of Trichoderma : Trichoderma are free-living fungi. They are effective biocontrol agents against many plant pathogens.
(b) The approach of an organic framer is different in the following ways :
1. He creates a system wherein the insets and even pest's are not eradicated but kept at a manageable level. This is contrary to the chemicals which pill both useful and harmful life forms indiscriminately.
2. The organic farmer holds the view that elimination of pests is not desirable since they serve as food for many beneficial predatory insects.
