In `NH_(4)NO(2)^(-)`,oxidation number of N in `NH_(4)^(+)`increase in form -3 to 0, while the oxidation number of N in `NO_(2)^(-)` decrease from +3 to 0, i.e, in this reaction ,simultaneous oxidation of `NH_(4)^(+)` and reduction pf `NO_(2)^(-2)` in the compound occur ,So this reaction is redox reaction.
